No Kidding! is an all-volunteer, non-profit social club for adult couples and singles who, for whatever reason, have never had children. It is not a business or a dating service. We rely on all of our members to volunteer some of their time to organize our activities.
Since its inception in 1984 in Vancouver, BC, Canada, childfree people have contacted us from all over the world.
Members in the various No Kidding! chapters range in age from 18 to 80 (and up!), with most being in their 30's and 40's and include couples, singles, men, and women.
Most members of No Kidding! have thought long and hard about parenthood. Many have concluded (for various reasons) that it really wasn't right for them.
Similarly, some No Kidding! members adore children, while others don't care much for children at all. You will probably meet some from each extreme (and everywhere in between!) at your local chapter No Kidding! activities.
Membership is open to any adult who has never parented -- regardless of gender, age, color, race, ethnicity, cultural or linguistic background, marital, social or economic status, political, sexual or religious orientation, or physical or mental ability.
If a member has a partner who has parented (i.e. has kids of any age), the partner may attend events as a guest of the member. The partner may not attend events without the member, and must pay a function fee (just like all other guests and non-members).
People wanting to make new childfree friends have started No Kidding! chapters in numerous cities in several countries around the world. Currently, there are active No Kidding! Chapters in Canada, New Zealand, and the United States.

All of our Chapters were started and run by volunteers such as yourself. If you would like to make some new childfree friends by forming a No Kidding! chapter in your city, please see the following FAQs for more information starting a new No Kidding! Chapter.
Note: Although No Kidding! is most definitely not a business, we do have expenses (phone, domain name & web site, etc.). To help cover costs, there is a one-time non-refundable chapter start-up fee ($50 US).
Starting a No Kidding! Chapter is easy, and will allow you to use the No Kidding! name, join the Chapter Leader Email Listserv, and place a listing in our Directory of Chapters.
We'll also put you in touch with any other contacts we may have from your area, provide suggestions on setting up your own chapter web page, and offer regular ongoing support from No Kidding!

This contact info is for internal use only and will not be shared publicly. We'll send your No Kidding! Start-up Information Package as soon as possible after receiving your payment, however we are an all volunteer organization, so please allow 2-3 days for a reply.

Upon receipt of your request to become a No Kidding! Chapter (including your start-up fee), we will forward you our No Kidding! Chapter Startup Information Package, which includes:
- Info on the history & operation of No Kidding! (Founded 1984),
- Detailed suggestions on getting your Chapter started,
- Contact information for any people in your area who have indicated an interest in No Kidding!, and
- Recommendations for your first meeting
